Raymond Abrea, CPA, MBA, MPA is the Lead Convenor of the International Tax and Investment Conference (ITIC). He has given investment and tax briefings in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, United States, Middle East and Africa or a total of more than 50 states, countries and regions around the world. He has previously served as the Co-Chair of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Task Force on Paying Taxes from 2016 to 2022. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he has taken courseworks on Growth and Macroeconomic Policy, Global Governance, Science of Behavior Change, Corruption: Finding It and Fixing It, and Policy Analysis and Communications. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy at San Beda University.
He has been recognized as one of the 2017 Outstanding Young Persons of the World, 2016 Digital Mover, one of 2015 Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines (TOYM), an Asia CEO Young Leader, recipient of the Metrobank Foundation’s Award for Continuing Excellence and Service, and Distinguished Bedan in the field of Accounting and Taxation for his tax expertise and advocacy to promote ease of doing business and tax reform in the country.
Presently, he is the Founding Chairman and Chief Tax Advisor of the Asian Consulting Group (ACG) – the Philippines’ first Tax Hub for top corporations, SMEs, and celebrities in the Asia-Pacific, and founding Trustee of the Center for Strategic Reforms of the Philippines (CSR Philippines) – the advocacy partner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), the Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) and Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on the ease of doing business. He has also formulated the idea behind the TaxWhizPH mobile app, a software intended to make tax compliance easier and simpler.
He is considered the most prominent advocate of genuine tax reform, a sought-after speaker, and most-celebrated tax consultant to high-profile individuals and celebrities. He is often invited as a tax expert resource in conferences and legislative committee hearings. He writes for various publications like the Philippine Daily Inquirer, BusinessWorld, and has an online column #AskTheTaxWhiz on Rappler.
He also hosts the “Thought Leaders and Game Changers” podcast on Spotify where listeners can learn from his conversations with experts and authorities from international organizations and governments around the world.
To further promote his advocacy on tax education and reform, he publishes tax books annually making him a national bestselling author of “Got A Question About Taxes? #AskTheTaxWhiz” and “Iwas BUWISit: What To Do When Tax Attacks? #AskTheTaxWhiz” recognizing him as The Philippine Tax Whiz.
